Experiential Tourism in the Acchahuata Andean Community
Duration: 1 full day from 9:00am to 4:00pm
The Andean community of Acchahuata is found at 3700 meters above sea level and belongs to the province of Calca. It is located passing the Amparaes pass. Take a journey to where time stands still. You will be able to closely observe community life, its customs and textile wisdom with PALLAY’s master weavers.
It was a beautiful experience visiting the Acchahuata community with my children. The people are very friendly and cheerful, they made us a delicious trout for lunch and the most interesting thing was getting to know up close all the wonderful textile art that they are masters of. I loved that my children could share with the children of the community, observe and live closely this part of our culture
Being with the PALLAY master weavers was an honor for me because I admire their art. Being able to see their work and interact with them was like crossing a portal in time and arriving in an Andean space full of textile wisdom
I lived a different day that will always remain in my memory and in my heart.
